What the Trainers look for in a candidate Cadaver Dog besides the strong sense of smell is Confidence, Good Hunt Drive, and strong nerves. The majority of Dogs that take the training and have the ability are Labradors Retrievers or German Shepherds. Most Cadaver Dogs are trained for about 18 months to 2 years before they are up to the title. ![]()
